 Hello Yuletide Writer!

Thank you so much for taking on my request (or writing me a treat)! My ao3 username is: myhaus_spaeter

Here are my three fandoms and my likes/dislikes for each:

The Charioteer - Mary Renault
Characters: Ralph Lanyon, Laurie Odell

THINGS I LIKE: Laurie/Ralph is my OTP, I like their intellectual discussions about queerness & politics, their loyalty and devotion to each other, their shared sense of “bitchy” humor. I like how they tease each other, make each other laugh, how well they work together as a team during a crisis, how attuned they are to each other’s quirks and habits.

DO-NOT-WANT: breaking up Laurie & Ralph; focusing on romantic pairings other than Laurie / Ralph; Ralph and Laurie not being the primary focus of the fic

A note on names: I personally use "Bristol" instead of "Bridstow" as it is called in canon. You are welcome to use either.

PROMPT SUGGESTIONS:
- Anything focused on Laurie/Ralph set post-canon
- Observing Ralph and Laurie from the POV of another character
- Stream-of-consciousness (from Laurie or Ralph’s POV)
- Ralph & Laurie talk about books: maybe they talk about one or a few of the novels in Ralph’s flat, or maybe they discuss & debate the “new novels” that Ralph sent Laurie when he transferred to Bristol
- Ralph and Laurie being father figures to Mervyn
- AUs: fairytale / folklore, fantasy / magical realism, gothic romance, gothic horror, etc.
- AU set in ancient Greece (Thebes, Sparta, Athens, Macedonia, etc.)

Alexander Trilogy - Mary Renault
Characters: Hephaestion, Alexander

THINGS I LIKE: Alexander / Hephaestion is my OTP; I love the glimpses we get in the trilogy of Hephaestion as a calculating and talented politician. I am intrigued by Hephaestion’s steady rise to power and the way he (and Alexander) eliminates / marginalizes his political enemies & rivals. I love how they work as a team in public and act like an old married couple in private. I love the casual intimacy and equality in their relationship.

DO-NOT-WANT: breaking up Alexander & Hephaestion, focusing on unrequested characters.

A note on names: I personally use the Latin orthography, but I am open to both Greek and Latin.

PROMPT SUGGESTIONS:
- Hephaestion and Alexander working as a team to hammer out details of governance and/or diplomatic strategy
- Hephaestion and Alexander’s reconciliation at Ecbatana: who made the first move, what did they manage to agree on, and what differences did they choose to ignore / suppress?
- AU where Hephaestion and Alexander both survive the end of the The Persian Boy: do they invade Arabia? Carthage? Rome? How does it go?
-  AU where Hephaestion and Alexander survive to raise their children. How do they differ in their child rearing approaches?

Last of the Wine - Mary Renault
Characters: Alcibiades, Socrates

THINGS I LIKE: I’ve always wondered what was the nature of the love they felt towards each other? Is Renault’s Socrates asexual? What was Alcibiades like in private? Did Alcibiades see a different side to Socrates that we don’t get to see in the novel?

DO NOT WANT: AUs

A note on names: I personally use the Latin orthography, but I am open to both Greek and Latin.

PROMPT SUGGESTIONS:
- A story set during Alcibiades’ youth when he was studying under Socrates
- A conversation between Alcibiades and Socrates set sometime during the years covered in novel
- Alcibiades successfully (through either words or action) challenging Socrates or getting him to change his mind or reconsider an argument on a point of philosophy
